MFI Farm Business Institute



MFI Farm Business Institute exists to empower the Filipino farmer by providing him the skills and knowledge to become a farmer entrepreneur. It also aims to develop a vibrant agro-industrial sector in the countryside by integrating in its educational programs the thrust towards rural enterprise development. The Institute shall be a showcase to raise the public perception of agriculture as a career option and profession. This, in the long term, shall be a catalyst in the community economic development of the countryside, thus increasing food security and decreasing poverty.

MFI-FBI’s primary focus in service are the disadvantaged, but will also serve and partner with professional farmers, corporations and cooperatives, organizations, college students, and graduates. Its program offerings will revolve around best agricultural practices within the concept of Farming / Agricultural Systems alongside concepts of environmental protection and biodiversity conservation. MFI’s existing properties in Jala-Jala, Rizal and Bais City, Negros Oriental are dedicated to formal and non-formal education programs that shall:

  • show and teach our farmers to learn how to maximize their resource by knowing their resource, both land and water, and by selecting the best combination of agricultural crops, and using the appropriate modern, progressive farming technologies
  • show and teach farmers that they gain market strength through the consolidation of farm goods/ outputs through cooperative ventures and by taking into consideration quality assurance and control
  • show and teach farmers to access process technologies that increase the value of their produce, primarily - post harvest technologies and other on-farm process technologies
