The Farm Business School

MFI shall offer formal education through its proposed post-secondary, TESDA-CHED accredited programs. It shall develop a three year diploma in Entrepreneurship major in Farm Business Management that will lead towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Entrepreneurship major in Farm Business Management under a ladderized curriculum. The school’s flagship program will be adapting the dual training system.


The library of the Farm Business School is also home to the MFI Farmer's Information Technology Service (FITS) center, also known as the Techno Pinoy center of MFI Foundation in Jalajala, Rizal. It will be a one-stop service facility for students, farmers, fishermen, entrepreneur, and other clients in Barangay Punta in Jalajala and in nearby municipalities. At present, the FITS-MFI offers materials on farm production and entrepreneurship in agriculture, bamboo, moringa, coffee, livestock, vegetables, natural farming, organic fertilizers, and agroforestry.


 

The Farmers' Training Center


Currently, the center provides non-formal education that will include short term, or season-long course training programs and extension work to enhance the productivity of small farmers. It shall also establish techno-demo farms in coordination with the centers of the Farm Business School to showcase appropriate technologies in farming systems for farmer adaptation. It shall operate satellite techno-demo farms called “Farmers Field Schools” that will serve as training facilities for on-the-job trainees and student interns.


 

The Agro-Aquatic Development Center


The center will basically act as field laboratories for both formal and non-formal educational programs of the Farm Business School that focus on freshwater aquaculture.


 

 

The Agro-Forestry Development Center


The center will be a venue for both formal and non-formal educational programs of the Farm Business School that focus on agro-forestry farming systems for upland and sloping topography.

 

 

 

The Urban Agriculture Development Center

The center shall promote the use of idle lands in the urban centers for agriculture, forestry and food production. It targets urban-based farmers, gardeners and landscapers. It shall promote urban forestry that will re-green the metropolis to decrease pollution, carbon sequestration and mitigate global warming.

 

 

 

The Agro Technology Center

The center shall focus on research and development and commercialize appropriate technologies related to farm machinery and equipments, tools and implements, and post-harvest facilities. It aims to increase the productivity and value of the farmers’ produce that will increase the income-generating capacity of our farmers.

The Continuing Farm Business Education

The center shall offer and organize seminars, conferences, field visits, and forums for people involved in agribusiness and those who are interested in venturing in the sector.
